Bangladesh Bondhu Foundation (BONDHU), also abbreviated as BBF, understands itself as a team with its advisors, board members and staff members in different roles to be fulfilled. It is led by the executive board where the advisory board provides suggestions. The executive board is the highest authority to undertake projects which are implemented by the decision of the executive members of the board.

In December 2005 GIZ started the promotion of improved cookstoves (ICS) of clay developed by IFRD of BCSIR. The major focus of the GIZ intervention was on the establishment of a self-sustaining supply chain for stoves; this included massive training of stove builders (more than 10,000 persons were trained). Dissemination of the improved stove was quite rapid but monitoring showed that the quality of the stoves was not always according to design. In 2010 to overcome the quality problem GIZ introduced concrete as the material for manufacturing ICS. This allowed mass production and significantly better adherence to quality standards. Now GIZ supported all stoves are made by its partners with concrete. In 2012-2014 to expedite the penetration of Bondhu Chula, BCCT and GIZ undertook the joint project "Market Development Initiative for Bondhu Chula." The aim of the project was to create 5000 entrepreneurs, who will produce, sell and install Bondhu Chula as a part of their business. The project was successfully implemented jointly by DoE and GIZ and completed on 31 March 2014. After the establishment of BONDHU, BCCT approved the second phase of the project ‘Market Development Initiative for Bondhu Chula’. Under this new phase, 400,000 Bondhu Chulas are expected to be installed in the period 01 July 2015-31 December 2016. This project is also being implemented jointly by DoE and GIZ (through BONDHU). Now Bangladesh Bondhu Foundation (BONDHU) is implementing the Bondhu Chula Project by the entrepreneurs who are supported by the Republic of Korea all over the country. The local Government is directly cooperating for implementing the project.

বাংলাদেশ বন্ধু ফাউন্ডেশন (বন্ধু), সংক্ষেপে বিবিএফ, এটি নিজেদের একটি দল হিসেবে বোঝে যার উপদেষ্টা, বোর্ড সদস্য এবং কর্মীরা বিভিন্ন ভূমিকা পালন করে । এটি নির্বাহী বোর্ড দ্বারা পরিচালিত হয় যেখানে উপদেষ্টা বোর্ড পরামর্শ প্রদান করে। নির্বাহী বোর্ড হল প্রকল্প গ্রহণের সর্বোচ্চ কর্তৃপক্ষ যা দ্বারা সিদ্ধান্ত বাস্তবায়ন করা হয়।

২০০০ সালের ডিসেম্বর মাসে জিআইজেড বিসিএসআইআর-এর আইএফআরডি দ্বারা উন্নত কাদামাটির উন্নত রান্না চুলা (আইসিএস) প্রচার শুরু করে। জিআইজেডের উদ্যোগের প্রধান লক্ষ্য ছিল চুলাগুলোর জন্যে একটি স্বাবলম্বী সরবরাহ চেইন স্থাপন; এর মধ্যে চুলা নির্মাতাদের ব্যাপক প্রশিক্ষণ অন্তর্ভুক্ত ছিল (১০,০০০ এর বেশি ব্যক্তি প্রশিক্ষিত ছিল)। উন্নত চুলার প্রসার বেশ দ্রুত হয়েছিল কিন্তু পর্যবেক্ষণে দেখা গেছে যে চুলার মান সবসময় নকশা অনুযায়ী হয় না। ২০১০ সালে মানের সমস্যা দূর করার জন্য জিআইজেড আইসিএস তৈরির উপাদান হিসাবে কংক্রিট চালু করেছিল। এটি ব্যাপক উৎপাদন এবং গুণ ও মানের উল্লেখযোগ্যভাবে ভাল আনুগত্যের অনুমতি দেয়। এখন জিআইজেড সমর্থিত সমস্ত চুলা তার অংশীদাররা কংক্রিট দিয়ে তৈরি করে। ২০১২- ২০১৪ সালে বন্ধু চুলার অনুপ্রবেশকে ত্বরান্বিত করার জন্য, BCCT এবং GIZ যৌথ প্রকল্প "বন্ধুত্বের জন্য বাজার উন্নয়ন উদ্যোগ" গ্রহণ করে। প্রকল্পের লক্ষ্য ছিল ৫০০০ উদ্যোক্তা তৈরি করা, যারা তাদের ব্যবসার অংশ হিসেবে বন্ধু চুলা উৎপাদন, বিক্রি এবং ইনস্টল করবে। প্রকল্পটি সফলভাবে ডিওই এবং জিআইজেড দ্বারা যৌথভাবে বাস্তবায়িত হয়েছিল এবং ১ মার্চ ২০১৪ তারিখে সম্পন্ন হয়েছিল। এই নতুন ধাপের আওতায়, ০১ জুলাই ২০১৫ -৩১ ডিসেম্বর ২০১৬ এর মধ্যে ৪০০০০০ বন্ধু চুলা স্থাপন করা হবে বলে আশা করা হচ্ছে। এই প্রকল্পটি DoE এবং GIZ (বিবিএফ এর মাধ্যমে) যৌথভাবে বাস্তবায়ন করছে। এখন বাংলাদেশ বন্ধু ফাউন্ডেশন (বন্ধু) উদ্যোক্তাদের দ্বারা বন্ধু চুলা প্রকল্প বাস্তবায়ন করছে যারা সারা দেশে দ্য রিপাবলিক অব কোরিয়া দ্বারা সমর্থিত। প্রকল্পটি বাস্তবায়নে স্থানীয় সরকার সরাসরি সহযোগিতা করছে।
