Story of a Resilient Woman Rupasee Begum
Mst. Rupasee Begum, also known as Service Doctor Rupasee Begum, is a resilient woman from Enayetpur Village in Hariharnagar Union under Manirampur Upazila of Jessore District in the Khulna division. Her life started transforming through her association with the Bondhu Chula program.
Before joining Bondhu Chula in December 2019, Rupasee worked in others' houses, earning a modest income of 100 to 150 taka per day. With a sick husband and the responsibility of a seven-member family resting on her shoulders, the financial pressure was overwhelming. Recognizing the need for a change, Rupasee learned about the Bondhu Chula program through a neighbor.
In 2019, she became acquainted with an Assistant District Manager (ADM) of Bondhu Chula and, after understanding the program's benefits, made the courageous decision to join. Rupasee underwent training in Bondhu Chula, and since then, she has been wholeheartedly engaged in the program, intending to continue as long as possible.
Through her dedication to Bondhu Chula, Rupasee's life underwent a significant transformation. She became able to provide essential items to her daughter's in-laws. Last month, she successfully married off her son. Utilizing the profits wisely, Rupasee managed to purchase two cows after covering all her expenses.
The BONDHU provided her with an alternative source of income as well as empowered her to meet her family's needs. Rupasee expresses her sincere gratitude to the Bangladesh Bondhu Foundation (BONDHU) for its immense contribution to shaping her life.
