Md. Anwar Hossain is an inhabitant of Shibganj, Chapainawabganj. His journey began with adversity when he lost his homestead to Padma river erosion, forcing him to live in makeshift houses partitioned with tin in Nayalavanga Union. Despite the challenges, he persevered and worked in other factories to make a living. However, it was in 2016 that he took a bold step into entrepreneurship with Bondhu Chula.
The Bondhu Chula business became the catalyst for positive change in Md. Anwar Hossain's life. The growth of his business from 2018 onwards marked a turning point. With determination and hard work, he managed to buy a piece of land and constructed a brick house on it.
The success of the Bondhu Chula business allowed Md. Anwar Hossain to address other important aspects of his life. He used the income to marry off his two daughters and pay off debts amounting to three to four lakhs. Besides, he expanded his business by setting up a Bondhu Chula factory and a pipe-making machine.
The impact of Bondhu Chula business on Md. Anwar Hossain's life is highlighted by his transformation from a condition of abject poverty to self-reliance. Earning around forty thousand taka monthly by selling Bondhu Chula and chimneys, he has not only secured a stable income but also contributed to the community by setting up 70 to 100 Bondhu Chula on average every month.
