BONDHU and Bashori Mobilize Medical Aid for Flood-Affected in Bangladesh
In the wake of unprecedented flooding in Bangladesh, which has severely impacted districts such as Feni, Noakhali, Cumilla, Khagrachari, Rangamati, Habiganj, Laxmipur, and Moulavibazar, the Bangladesh Bondhu Foundation (BONDHU) and Bashori - A Nazrul Centre have stepped up to offer crucial support. The floods have led to the submergence of millions of homes, properties, and livestock, leaving the affected populations in dire need of food, clean water, shelter, and medical care.
In response to the urgent crisis, BONDHU, in collaboration with Bashori, formed the ‘BONDHU Medical Team’ to provide medical aid in the flood-affected Bangodda and Raikot South Union, Nangalkot Upazila, Cumilla. On 26th August 2024, the BONDHU Medical Team provided essential medical aid to those in need. The dedicated doctors and volunteers of the team offered free medical checkups, provided treatments, and distributed necessary medications to the flood-stricken individuals.
BONDHU thanks Dr. Suborna Sarker, Dr. Umme Kulsum, Dr. Uday Rahman, and Md. Shah Alam, a fourth-year MBBS student, for their unwavering commitment and support. We also sincerely thank the Rongtuli Youth Foundation for their invaluable cooperation during this crisis.
