BONDHU for flood affected
The
Bangladesh Bondhu Foundation (BONDHU) and Bashori - A Nazrul Center have
consistently lent their unwavering support to those in need during various
disasters, be it natural calamities or epidemics, offering a friendly hand to
the helpless.
In the wake of one of Sylhet's most severe floods in history, where people were grappling with the scarcity of shelter, food, clean water, and daily necessities, BONDHU and Bashori took action. On June 26, 2022, relief assistance totaling 12 lakh taka was disbursed. The employees of BONDHU also contributed to this benevolent cause by donating a day's worth of their salary.
Aid, including saline, food supplies, sarees, lungis, and more, was distributed among the flood-affected individuals. In the North Sreepur Union of Tahirpur Upazila in Sunamganj district, essential items such as rice, pulses, potatoes, onions, saline, and water purification tablets were provided to those impacted by the floods.
Bangladesh Bondhu Foundation (BONDHU), Bashori-A Nazrul Center, and South Korea's Ecoeye Co. Ltd. came together on July 22, 2022, to distribute relief aid across six shelter centers in Balaganj and Osmaninagar Upazila of Sylhet. Besides, 270 families in Sunamganj district were supported. In total, 570 families received financial assistance of Tk 2,000 each, along with a saree, a lungi, a towel, water purification tablets, oral saline, soap, washing powder, and biscuits, aiming to alleviate their plight.
