BONDHU participated in the Environment Fair-2023
Bangladesh Bondhu Foundation (BONDHU) participated in the Environment Fair-2023, an annual event organized by the Department of Environment and the Ministry of Environment, Forest, and Climate Change in collaboration. This week-long event, along with a month-long National Tree Plantation Campaign and Tree Fair, commenced at the venue of Sher-e-Bangla Nagar, Dhaka, adjacent to the Bangabandhu International Conference Center (BICC). Commencing on June 5th and culminating on June 11th, 2023, the fair was inaugurated by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on World Environment Day.
During the inauguration, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina set a significant tone by planting a tree, emphasizing the vital role of tree planting in combating climate change. She urged the common people to participate in this crucial endeavor, highlighting the responsibility to mitigate the impacts of climate change within Bangladesh. The core theme for World Environment Day 2023 centered on "Solutions to plastic pollution."
As a regular participant, Bangladesh Bondhu Foundation (BONDHU) actively engaged in this year's Environment Fair. In stalls numbered 76 and 77, BONDHU showcased its ongoing endeavors of five impactful projects through eye-catching demonstrations, multimedia displays, insightful documentaries, and informative posters. Besides this, brochures elucidating the activities of these projects were disseminated among the fair's visitors. The seven-day-long event concluded on June 11th, 2023.
In line with its commitment to environmental stewardship, BONDHU's involvement extended to the Tree Fair-2023. Presenting a dedicated stall, BONDHU aimed to disseminate information regarding its tree plantation projects and highlight the benefits. Emphasizing the crucial role of tree planting in curbing climate change, BONDHU showcased a selection of 50 climate-friendly tree species, disseminating their importance at the stall during the fair.
