Water Festival held at Mongla, Bagerhat on 9th November 2022
On the 9th of November 2022, the Bangladesh Bondhu Foundation (BONDHU) observed a vibrant and significant event, titled "Water Festival," held at Mongla, Bagerhat. This celebration marked the auspicious inauguration of the Satpukuria Government Pond, Mithakhali, Mongla, Bagerhat Plant under the Drinking Water Supply Project.
In the festival, Mr. Abu Taher Howladar, Chairman of Mongla Upazila Parishad, Bagerhat, graced the occasion as the esteemed chief guest. Mr. Kamalesh Majumdar, Upazila Nirbahi Officer and Executive Magistrate of Mongla, Bagerhat; Mr. Sohan Ahmed, Deputy Assistant Engineer from the Directorate of Public Health Engineering, Mongla, Bagerhat; and Mr. Utpal Kumar Mandal, Chairman of No. 4 Mithakhali Union Parishad, Mongla, Bagerhat attended the event as special guests. Mr. Pranab Majumder, Member of Ward No. 7 Mithakhali, Union Parishad No. 4, Mongla, Bagerhat, presided over the momentous occasion.
A dedicated stall of Bangladesh Bondhu Foundation (BONDHU) at the venue served as a hub of information, disseminating leaflets detailing BONDHU's impactful activities among the enthusiastic visitors. Apart from this, a lively cultural program featuring Nazrul Sangeet, organized by Bashori, held at the school premises.
Adding a touch of heritage and local flavor, the festival showcased a traditional pastoral game popularly known as "Lathikhela" (Stick Game), performed by enthusiastic locals.
Besides, marking the inauguration of the drinking water supply project, the Water Festival served as a platform for community engagement and cultural celebration.
